Panchen Lama

Dear Community Members and Friends of Tibet,

It has been 8 years since the last time we heard about Gendhun Choekyi Nyima, the 11th Panchen lama. He was abducted by the Chinese authority and has not been seen in public since 17th may 1995 after being recognized and named the 11th Panchen lama by His hollines the Dalia Lama. He is also considered the youngest political prisoner by the Human rights organization.

Many petitions and letters have already been drafted and sent to various significant leaders of the world about our concern about his well being. Chinese authority claim that he is living a normal life attending school and that his where about is kept a secret for his protection.

We Tibetans living in exile and inside Tibet are very concerned about his wellbeing, We want to know and see for ourselves that he is ok. China's continued repression and crack down has left us with little to no hope of ever seeing him again. Regardless it is our duty and responsibility to never stop asking about him and his where about. A six year old boy was abducted and his childhood taken away from him, to have let him live a life of a prisoner and depriving him of all his rights cannot and will not go down easily. We will never stop asking about him or any other political prisoner.

Please join us in the protest at Chinese consulate on Thursday 25th April from 12:30 pm 2:30pm. Our purpose of sending this early notice is so that we could have maximum participation. Please apply for leaves from your work and come join us to mark this very important day and let him know, where ever he is that we havent forgotten about him.
